There have been a number of recent studies that looked at sales prices for properties with professional photographs and those without. One study found that, across the county, the average sales price of a professionally photographed home went up $19,000 compared to a home without professional photography.

Another study showed that listings with high-quality photos could gain as much as $100,000 in the market. A third shows that a listing with professional photos sold 39% closer to asking price. Hiring a professional photographer does not cost anywhere near these numbers and is well worth the cost.

As the old saying goes, time is money, and when you consider that on average a listing with professional photos will sell 32% faster, then you can see another bonus. In fact, a home without professional photos took an average of 123 days to sell while the average home with professional photos took just 89 days to sell.

This is especially true when considering homes listed between $400,000 and $500,000. According to Red Fin, homes in this price range were 18% more likely to sell within the first six months if the had high-quality professional photos.
